Delhi Arts Curriculum- Pilot
The Delhi Arts Curriculum was an initiative by the Delhi Government and NalandaWayFoundation to bring about curriculum reforms by including arts in the mainstream education system. The curriculum aimed to enable children to have rich, holistic and immersive experiences in visual and performing arts - gaining art-based competencies across five art forms, exposure to local and global art and developing important social-emotional skills. The curriculum was first introduced as a pilot in 9 Sarvodaya Schools under the Directorate of Education in July 2022. The 9-month-long pilot involved working with the students, teachers and the school ecosystem, where 5 approaches to arts education were implemented to test the effectiveness and feasibility of the arts curriculum, including the content, processes and training approach. The following images are from that journey we undertook while implementing the project on ground across the 9 schools and reaching over 2500 students.
